Instructional Materials

An educational objective of REDMH is to develop instructional materials for a graduate and/or professional seminar in disaster mental health research.

Research Methods for Studying Mental Health after Disasters and Terrorism:
Community and Public Health Approaches
authored by Fran Norris, Sandro Galea, Matthew Friedman, Patricia Watson (Eds.) was published in 2007. This is a valuable resource textbook that emphasizes the practical and logistical challenges of conducting disaster research as well as methodological and scientific issues.

A DVD is also available for use alone or in combination with the book. The DVD has information on how to conduct a seminar in disaster mental health /public health research. It features interviews with:
